Catchment truth

FAMPAL does not decide official catchment from distance. SD43 School Locator remains the authority.

Answer a few quick questions and FAMPAL builds a short registration/moving plan — your address stays only in the SD43 lookup below, never sent anywhere else.

School catchment — how to confirm

What catchment means: Your catchment school is based on your home address in School District 43 — not how close a school looks on a map.

FAMPAL cannot determine your official catchment school. Only SD43 can confirm using your home address.

Catchment means which school your home address is assigned to. Distance on a map is not zoning. Catchment can change — always confirm on SD43.

This is the useful next step: Official confirmation is always on SD43.

Have an address or postal code? FAMPAL cannot confirm official catchment from an address box. Open the SD43 School Locator and enter your home address there. Distance on a map is not zoning.

Preparing to register

General categories families are commonly asked to bring — the exact requirements for your child's specific school can differ, so confirm the current list directly with that school or SD43.

  • Proof of your current address (e.g. a lease, utility bill, or similar).
  • Your child's identification/birth certificate or passport.
  • Immigration or residency status documents, if applicable.
  • Immunization records, if available.
  • Previous school records or report cards, if your child was already enrolled elsewhere.

Questions worth asking the school: When does the registration window open or close for this catchment? Is there a wait-list for this grade? What language/EAL support is available? What's the first day for a mid-year transfer?
